Back in March, two thirds of the Ecostage team (Paul, Andrea and Kira) travelled over to University of Hull to host a workshop around the new Ecostage Framework.
We invited both students and professionals to the Gulbenkian Centre to learn all about Ecostage, hear about some ecological thinking in practice and then get an introduction to the Framework, prior to the official launch. Those who came got an exclusive look at the Framework in order to provide us with valuable feedback before going live on site the following week.
Together, we created an imaginary project and then one-by-one, worked through each tool of the Framework to explore the different ways in which it might be used. Huge thank you to everyone who joined us, and for giving us such valuable feedback on things we were able to edit, update and prepare more examples ready for release. It was wonderful to see how each person had their own take, bringing in colours, drawings, scribbles and more to make the sheets vibrant and creative. The key to The Ecostage Framework is to be able to adapt to our different ways of learning and through this workshop is was great to see how the different interpretations allowed each of us to understand and grow the imagined project further and further.
As the place where Kira studies her undergrad and masters, it was also a lovely excuse to take a wander down memory lane, and show off her old stomping ground, sharing with current students what some alumni have been up to and offer new pathways in the performance arts industry.
