We’ve always had a close relationship with the Society of British Theatre Designers, especially the SBTD’s Sustainable Design Working Group, so it’s really nice to be invited to present an update on our work and chat about plans for the future with members of the working group and other interested friends and colleagues. The session is part of the working group’s Sustainable Scene Studio series; while most of the working group’s activities focus on supporting SBTD members, Sustainable Scene Studio meetings are open to anyone interested in environmental responsibility in performance design and related areas.
Here at Ecostage, we’re at an exciting turning point. Having presented our work at some key industry gatherings, such as World Stage Design and the Prague Quadrennial, we’re now consolidating our work through the creation of an education pack and rehearsal-room-friendly framework for ecological-minded theatre-making and other user-friendly resources. We’re also in the process of seeking charity status to increase our impact and organisational resilience.
As it’s an SBTD working group meeting, there’ll also be time to hear about their activities and plans.
So do please join us to hear more and share any ideas you have. The session will be on Zoom on 30th Oct at 6pm. If you’re signed up to the SBTD’s Sustainable Design Working Group, you’ll get the Zoom details nearer the time. If not, sign up here, and you’ll be emailed the details:
